What to expect from a typical session:
The session starts with the children beating their names on a drum and saying hello to everybody.

We then do a couple of warm up songs which are the same every week. They are great fun and the familiarity of the songs helps the children to settle into the session.

The theme for the week is then introduced. There are over twenty themes running at the moment and these are being built on all the time. This lasts for approximately fifteen minutes and involves experimenting with various props and exploring the theme through music, song and drama.

The end of the session includes experimenting with various instruments, working with puppets and generally having lots of fun.

About me:
I am a trained Montessori teacher to International level. Until the end of the Christmas term, I was Head Teacher of a local Montessori Nursery for five years. I have a very active interest in music. Whilst at school and college, I sang in various choirs and played the flute to grade 8 level. I played in the orchestra and wind band. I now sing in the Winchester City Festival Choir and we perform twice a year.
