Music is fundamental to a child’s development.

In Minimusic we aim to inspire a love and understanding of music in a simple way so that children can understand and enjoy it. They are thoroughly entertained and learn so much about the essentials of music at the same time.

Minimusic is aimed at preschool children from 2 years 6 months to just before they enter reception. Coming from a Montessori background, the children are not divided up into age groups. We find that if the ages are mixed, the older children show a naturally caring and helpful approach towards the younger ones and the younger children aspire to be like the older ones. This also means that siblings can often be in the same group together.

Minimusic sessions are always great fun, they last for half an hour and comprise of a different theme each time. The workshops involve lots of interaction from the children and a variety of props are brought along each week, helping to maintain their focus. The children are able to explore the world around them through music, song and drama whilst developing confidence, creativity, imagination, listening skills and co-ordination.
